Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately after verifying completeness, legibility, and therapeutic appropriateness of prescriptions
• Counsel patients and caregivers on correct dosage, route of administration, side effects, storage, and drug interactions
• Manage pharmacy inventory - maintain stock levels, monitor expiry dates, and coordinate procurement with the purchase department
• Ensure proper storage of medications including temperature-sensitive biologics, narcotics, and high-alert drugs
• Screen prescriptions for drug-drug and drug-disease interactions and alert the prescribing physician when necessary
• Maintain pharmacy registers, narcotic records, and regulatory compliance documents as per CDSCO norms
• Participate in clinical pharmacy rounds and collaborate with medical teams on rational drug use and antimicrobial stewardship
• Prepare IV admixtures, oncology cytotoxic drugs, and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) in dedicated sterile areas
• Support pharmacy audits, drug expiry checks, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements

B.Pharm or D.Pharm from a recognised institution; valid registration with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) or State Pharmacy Council. Hospital pharmacy experience is an advantage.
