Key Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill neonates in the Level III NICU - prematurity, RDS, NEC, sepsis, and HIE
• Perform and oversee neonatal resuscitation at delivery and stabilisation of VLBW infants
• Administer surfactant therapy, neonatal ventilation (HFO, conventional), and CPAP
• Perform invasive procedures - umbilical catheter placement, intubation, lumbar puncture
• Manage neonatal jaundice with phototherapy and exchange transfusion
• Coordinate with paediatric surgeons for surgical neonate management
• Conduct family counselling and developmental follow-up clinics for NICU graduates
• Participate in transport team for critically ill neonates
• Supervise paediatric residents and nursing staff in the NICU

Qualifications & Requirements

DM or DNB in Neonatology; valid NMC registration. Fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine is an advantage.
