OT Technician Jobs In Malda

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operation theatre before each surgical list - cleaning, draping, positioning trolleys, and arranging instrument sets
• Ensure proper sterilisation of all surgical instruments using autoclave, ETO, or plasma steriliser as per protocol
• Act as scrub technician - pass instruments, sutures, and swabs to the operating surgeon during procedures
• Operate and troubleshoot OT equipment including diathermy, suction, laparoscopy tower, and C-arm
• Maintain strict sterile field throughout the procedure and handle breaches per CSSD policy
• Perform pre-operative and post-operative instrument, swab, and needle counts to prevent retained items
• Support the anaesthesia team with patient positioning, padding, and monitoring device attachment
• Clean, decontaminate, and send instruments to CSSD after each case
• Maintain OT registers, surgical records, and routine equipment maintenance logs

Qualifications & Requirements

Diploma or B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology from a recognised paramedical institution. Minimum 1 year of hands-on OT experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Knowledge of laparoscopic and orthopaedic instrument sets is an advantage.
