Job Description:
The Senior Resident in Anesthesia will provide clinical and academic support to the department, including anesthesia care in surgical and emergency procedures, teaching postgraduate and undergraduate students, and contributing to departmental research and academic activities. This role requires a commitment to patient care, teamwork, and ongoing learning.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative stages.
Provide emergency anesthesia services, including trauma and critical care interventions.
Manage pain relief protocols and intensive care patients as needed.
Academic Responsibilities:
Teach and mentor medical students, interns, and junior residents during clinical postings.
Participate in departmental teaching programs, case discussions, and clinical seminars.
Research Contributions:
Engage in clinical research activities under the guidance of senior faculty.
Publish and present findings at conferences and in journals.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate patient records and reports.
Participate in department audits, quality improvement initiatives, and interdepartmental meetings.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Qualification: MD/DNB in Anesthesiology from an MCI-recognized institution.
Experience: 0-3 years post-PG experience preferred (depending on institutional requirements).
Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques, equipment, and protocols.
Good communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
