Job Description:
Patient Consultation: Orthopedicians meet with patients to evaluate their medical history, symptoms, and perform physical examinations.
order diagnostic tests such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, or blood tests to assist in diagnosis.
Diagnosis: Based on the patient's symptoms, medical history, and test results, orthopedicians diagnose musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.
These can include fractures, sprains, arthritis, spinal disorders, sports injuries, congenital conditions, and more.
Treatment Planning: Develop personalized treatment plans for their patients. This may involve both non-surgical and surgical interventions.
Explain the available treatment options, risks, benefits, and potential outcomes to patients, allowing them to make informed decisions.
Non-Surgical Interventions: Prescribe medication, physical therapy, exercises, or recommend lifestyle modifications to manage or alleviate pain, improve mobility, and promote healing.
Provide joint injections or administer orthobiologic treatments.
Surgical Procedures: If surgical intervention is required, perform a variety of surgical procedures. These may include joint replacements, fracture repair, arthroscopy, spinal surgeries, ligament and tendon repair, and more. They work closely with anesthesiologists and surgical teams to ensure safe and successful procedures.
Postoperative Care: Monitor patients' progress after surgery, manage pain, and provide postoperative instructions for rehabilitation and recovery.
They may refer patients to physical therapists or rehabilitation specialists to aid in the healing process.
Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as Orthopedicians, physiatrists, rheumatologists, and physical therapists, to ensure comprehensive care for their patients.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and develop optimal treatment plans.

Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized institution.
Postgraduate degree (MS/DNB/Dortho) in Orthopedic surgery.
