Casualty Medical Officer (CMO) will be responsible for managing and providing medical care to patients in the hospital's emergency department. The CMO will ensure prompt diagnosis, treatment, and stabilization of patients in critical or acute conditions and coordinate with other departments for seamless patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Provide immediate medical attention to patients arriving at the casualty/emergency department.
Stabilize critical patients before transferring them to specialized units if necessary.
Perform emergency procedures such as resuscitation, suturing, and wound care.
Diagnosis and Treatment:
Assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of medical conditions and injuries.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, blood tests) as required.
Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.
Coordination:
Collaborate with consultants, surgeons, and other specialists for advanced care.
Coordinate with the nursing staff for patient monitoring and care delivery.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Document all treatments, procedures, and medical decisions as per hospital protocols.
Emergency Preparedness:
Handle mass casualty incidents or medical emergencies efficiently.
Participate in disaster management and emergency drills as required.
Other Duties:
Guide and mentor junior medical staff or interns in the emergency department.
Ensure adherence to hospital policies and standard treatment protocols.
Participate in continuous medical education and training programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
MBBS degree from a recognized medical college.
Registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or relevant state medical council.
Advanced training in emergency medicine (preferred but not mandatory).
Experience:
Minimum 0-5 years of experience in emergency/casualty or hospital settings.
Freshers with exceptional academic records may also be considered.
