Medical Assessments: Neonatologists perform comprehensive medical assessments of newborns, including physical examinations, monitoring vital signs, and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic test results.
Interpret the findings and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Treatment and Procedures: Neonatologists administer and manage medical interventions such as administering medications, oxygen therapy, and nutritional support.
Perform procedures such as intubation, central line placements, and lumbar punctures, as necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of infants.
Collaborative Care: Neonatologists work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, and other specialists, to provide comprehensive care to newborns.
Collaborate with these professionals to develop treatment plans, monitor progress, and adjust interventions as needed.
