Key Responsibilities:
• Clinical Duties:
â—‹ Provide comprehensive anesthesia care for a wide range of cardiac surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacements, heart transplants, and complex congenital heart surgeries.
â—‹ Manage complex cardiac anesthesia cases, including those with multiple comorbidities and high-risk profiles.
â—‹ Utilize advanced monitoring techniques and hemodynamic management strategies to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
â—‹ Participate in preoperative assessments, intraoperative management, and postoperative care of cardiac surgery patients.
â—‹ Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, perfusionists, and other members of the cardiac team to optimize patient care.
â—‹ Provide leadership and guidance to junior faculty and residents in the field of cardiac anesthesia.
• Academic Duties:
â—‹ Teach medical students, postgraduate residents, and fellows in the field of cardiac anesthesia.
â—‹ Conduct clinical research and publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
â—‹ Participate in departmental and institutional committees.
â—‹ Guide postgraduate students in their research projects and dissertations.
â—‹ Develop and implement innovative teaching and training programs in cardiac anesthesia.
• Administrative Duties:
â—‹ Participate in administrative duties, such as scheduling, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives.
â—‹ Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
â—‹ Represent the department in various institutional committees.
Required Skills and Competencies:
• Clinical Expertise:
â—‹ In-depth knowledge of cardiac physiology, pharmacology, and anesthetic techniques.
â—‹ Proficiency in advanced cardiac monitoring techniques, including TEE, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and transesophageal echocardiography.
