Job Description:
Surgical Procedures: General surgeons perform a wide range of surgical procedures, including but not limited to appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removal, bowel resections, and tumor removals.

Preoperative Assessment: General surgeons conduct thorough preoperative assessments of patients to determine their suitability for surgery.
This includes reviewing medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, and evaluating the patient's overall health condition. Consult with other specialists if necessary.
Surgical Planning: Surgeons are responsible for developing surgical plans based on the patient's diagnosis and medical condition.
Analyze test results, interpret imaging scans, and coordinate with the surgical team to ensure that all necessary resources and equipment are available for the procedure.
Surgical Techniques: General surgeons possess advanced knowledge and skills in various surgical techniques. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in surgical procedures and technologies to provide optimal care to their patients.
Intraoperative Management: During surgeries, general surgeons lead the surgical team, including surgical assistants, nurses, and anesthesiologists.
Perform the surgical procedure with precision, ensuring patient safety and minimizing risks. Make critical decisions during surgery and manage any unforeseen complications that may arise.
Postoperative Care: After surgery, general surgeons provide comprehensive postoperative care. Monitor patients' recovery, manage pain, prescribe medications, and advise on postoperative instructions and precautions.
Provide follow-up consultations to track the progress of their patients and address any concerns.
Collaboration: General surgeons work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, specialists, nurses, and allied health staff, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Consult with specialists from different disciplines to provide a multidisciplinary approach to complex cases.

Educational requirements:
